Crunchyroll Acquires New Korean Animated Series BASTIONS Featuring New BTS Music

Crunchyroll recently announced that it has acquired the new Korean animated series Bastions and will begin airing the series this Saturday, May 13. The series blends superhero stories, 3D animation and K-pop, including international stars BTS! Bastions comes from Thymos Media and will contain 5 episodes following some fledgling superheroes on their journey to become more popular. The series will have several original K-pop songs with the theme song courtesy of BTS and additional songs by Heize and AleXa among others.

These unconventional heroes are preparing to prevent disaster! In a world where superpowers are the norm, a group of beloved idols work together to keep society safe. But they are about to face a new enemy: Wash Green. This megacorporation can be defined as eco-sustainable, but in reality it is a leader in environmental pollution. Can Bastions persevere and save the planet?

Speaking of carrying Bastions at Crunchyroll, Asa Suehira by Crunchyroll shared:

Crunchyroll has an amazing opportunity to introduce fans to more animation styles from Asia, and this exciting new series from Korea does just that. And having the music of so many K-pop stars really expands BASTIONS’ appeal.

Thymos Media, the studio behind the series, added:

BTS is supposed to provide an overwhelming sense of immersion to the emotions and action scenes of the series by singing the theme song in perfect harmony.

This might be fun to watch. K-pop is pretty popular these days, so I’m sure a lot of fans are into it Bastions launches on Crunchyroll on May 13.
