Peter Sarsgaard (The Batman) AND Mackenzie Davis (Terminator: Dark Fate) will star in a new horror film project titled The condemnation of a country merchant.
The film is described as a “twisted horror” and the story is set in 1910s Indiana and “follows the patriarch of a rural merchant family (Sarsgaard) whose way of life is suddenly upended by a charismatic industrialist who has entered a secret relationship with his wife (Davis).”
It is explained, “When rising tensions mistakenly lead to a client’s death, his wounded authority and masculinity leave him vulnerable to truly bizarre and horrific forces that cause unimaginable chaos and terror.”
The film is set at Anonymous Content, Two Independent Eyes and Anti-Worlds, who have collaborated in the production of the film. It was also announced that the film will be written and directed by Matthew Rosenbaum, who will make his directorial debut with the project.
Founding members of Pulsar Gilles Sousa AND Marie Garret said in a statement, “We are thrilled to announce our first feature film starring Peter Sarsgaard and Mackenzie Davis. It is also a great opportunity to collaborate again with XYZ Films, UTA Independent Film Group and CAA Media Finance on this first feature film which we are sure will suit international audiences. The script is absolutely unique and will take the audience to an unexpected place.”
