This week onwards Danger!, a contestant had a pretty funny story to tell about her first anniversary gift. The participant in the game, Amanda Hendrickson, a costume designer from Highland Village, Texas, appeared on the May 2 episode of the series. When it was her turn to tell a little about herself, she explained that for her one-year anniversary, which is traditionally the paper anniversary, her husband sent a blank Mad Lib to their favorite author, Neill Gaimanand asked him to fill it out for them.
Gaiman, the author of American Gods, Coraline, Stardust, The Sandman, Good Omens, and many others, obliged and returned to the Mad Lib compiled for the couple. Hendrickson said the couple had the treasured item framed and it hangs proudly in their home.
This is really strong! It’s fun to know when people are able to reach out to their heroes and get a response. It took Gaiman some time and effort to fill it out and mail it back, and it had a huge impact on his fans.
