While I keep finding dark and crazy old movies, this week I found one I’ve never heard of before The brain. The movie was released in 1988 and is quite a crazy, cheesy and funny movie due to the over the top plot and cheesy special effects.

In the film, “a psychologist with an increasingly popular TV show brainwashes his audience using a giant living brain. A mischievous high school student is sent to the psychologist’s institute and becomes determined to expose him.
The Brain was directed by Edward Hunt. The film follows a teenager named Jim who becomes the target of a mysterious organization led by a megalomaniacal scientist, Dr. Anthony Blakely, who has developed a powerful psychic brain that he plans to use to take over the world.
As the story unfolds, Jim is pursued by the organization and must use his wit and ingenuity to outwit the villains of the story and save himself and his friends.
The film’s absurdity and campy tone made it a fan favorite of B-horror films. Additionally, the film’s use of practical effects and makeup, including the giant beating brain, are part of its appeal.
I couldn’t actually find an original movie trailer for you to watch, but I did find a fun fan-made trailer, a clip from the movie, and you can actually watch the full movie on YouTube if you want!
