The long-in-the-making Broadway adaptation, which tells the untold story of the Witches of Oz, is being split into two parts, November 27 and bad part 2 for release December 25, 2025. Based on the best-selling book by Gregory Maguire, the picture was adapted for the film by playwright Winne Holzman and composer/lyricist Stephen Schwartz. Jeff Goldbum, Jonathan Bailey and Ethan Slater also star. Platt is producing alongside David Stone through Marc Platt Productions, with Senior EVP Production Erik Baiers and VP Production Development Lexi Barta overseeing the studio.
