LEGO announces plans for STAR WARS day celebrations

LEGO recently announced some of their plans to celebrate Star Wars DayMay 4th. Well, they’re actually celebrating May 1-7, so you’ll have a whole week of Star Wars goodness. There are a fair number of items that will be released such as Endor Speeder Chase (affiliate link) and Emperor’s Throne Room (affiliate link) dioramas, Pirate Snub Fighter (affiliate link) and Executor Super Star Destroyer (affiliate link). However, the star attraction will be a new X-Wing Starfighter from the Ultimate Collector Series (affiliate link).

This Ultimate Collector Series X-Wing set (model #75355) will retail for $239.99 and has a total of 1,949 pieces plus 2 minifigures. You will be able to build an X-Wing with an opening cockpit, space for the droid R2-D2 and adjustable wings for flight mode and attack mode. The wings are adjusted via a dial on the top of the X-Wing. Finished model measures approximately 11″ high, 18″ wide and 22″ deep.

Additionally, during the May 1-7 window, LEGO online shop shoppers can take advantage of some freebies. With purchases over $40, you’ll be able to get the X-Wing Starfighter (model #30654). If you spend more than $150, you’ll get the Death Star II (model #40591). Finally, LEGO VIPs will receive a Star Wars: Return of the Jedi 40th collector’s item with purchases over $85. VIP buyers will also earn double VIP points on select LEGO Star Wars sets.
