Trailer for THE HUNGER GAMES: THE BALLAD OF SONGBIRDS AND SNAKES

Lionsgate has released the first trailer for The Hunger Games prequel movie The Ballad of the Songbirds and the Serpents. The film is the protagonist Rachel Zegler such as Lucy Gray Baird and Tom Blyth as Coriolanus Snow and the story is set decades before the adventure story of Katniss Everdeen, and focuses on a young 18-year-old Coriolanus Snow, an ambitious boy who eventually becomes the tyrannical leader of the dystopian country of Panem.

For the most part, I enjoyed the original Hunger Games movies. They were really well made, and while I wasn’t a fan of the book this new movie is based on, the trailer makes the movie decent. There is no doubt that hardcore Hunger games fans are excited about this one, though.

The film follows “a young Coriolanus who is the last hope for his failing lineage, the once-proud Snow family that has fallen from grace in a postwar Capitol. With his livelihood threatened, Snow is reluctantly assigned to mentor Lucy Gray Baird, a tribute to impoverished District 12,” the synopsis reads. “But after Lucy Gray’s charm captivates Panem audiences, Snow sees an opportunity to change their destinies. With everything he’s worked for hanging in the balance, Snow teams up with Lucy Gray to turn the odds in their favor. Battling his instincts for both good and evil, Snow embarks on a race against time to survive and reveal whether she will eventually become a songbird or a snake.

The film also has a great supporting cast which includes Viola Davis as Doctor Volumnia Gaul, Peter Dinklage, Hunter Schafer, Josh Andres RiveraAND Jason Schwartzmann.

The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes is directed by the director of the franchise Francis Lawrence and will be released in theaters on November 17, 2023. Watch the trailer and tell us what you think!
