This sequel “will explore the mythic journey of Paul Atreides as he joins Chani and the Fremen as he is on the warpath of revenge against the conspirators who destroyed his family. Faced with a choice between the love of his life and the fate of the known universe, he struggles to prevent a dire future only he can foresee.

When it comes to the film, director Denis Villeneuve he tells the outlet that Dune: second part it’s an “epic war action movie” and explained: “It’s important, it’s not a sequel, it’s a second part. There’s a difference. I wanted the film to start right where the characters left off. There is no time jump. I wanted a dramatic continuity with the first part.

Speaking of Pugh’s Princess Irulan, who is the daughter of Emperor Shaddam IV (Christopher Walken), whose power as supreme ruler is dwindling as his control over the warring factions is loosening, he revealed: “Her stake she couldn’t be taller because she’s afraid her father might lose the throne, might lose everything. When I met Florence, I was struck by her confidence, how grounded she was as a young girl, how direct, how unapologetic. There’s something intrinsically real about her. I will certainly believe that Florence can become a prime minister in the future”.

Austin Butler he also stars in the film as Prince Harkonnen Feyd-Rautha. Speaking of the actor, Villeneuve said, “Austin Butler brought to the screen something that would have been a cross between a psychotic and sociopathic serial killer and Mick Jagger.”

Léa Seydoux takes on the role of a new character in the film, Lady Margot, who is a member of the Bene Gesserit. The director spoke about this character saying: “Margot Fenring is a Bene Gesserit sister, but she will be a secret agent in the film. It was very fun working with Léa. She is a character full of surprises ”.

Villeneuve goes on to explain that he wanted this film to have a lot of heart and he wanted to make a film that was very human. He explained: “I wanted to make a very human film, very close to the characters, despite the scope of the film. I kept saying to my crew, “The most important thing is that spark, that relationship between these two characters.” If we don’t capture it, if we don’t have it on the screen, there is no film. The epicenter of the story is this relationship.

The relationship he’s talking about is obviously Timothée Chalamet’s Paul Atreides e Zendayait’s Chani. Other cast members include Rebecca Ferguson, Stellan Skarsgard, Dave Bautista, Tim Blake Nelson, Bardem, Josh BrolinAND Stephen McKinley Henderson.

The highly anticipated sequel Dune: second part will hit theaters on Nov. 3, 2023. The VF piece includes more details on all of the new characters.
