Disney has unveiled the first magical trailer for its upcoming animated film Wish. It looks like a beautiful animated film, the style of which is unlike anything Disney has done before. The film tells the story of the star Disney characters have coveted over the years; it’s the same star mentioned in the classic Disney song, “When You Wish Upon a Star.”

The story takes place in a world called Rosas, a fairytale kingdom of wishes. It is a “fantasy land located off the coast of the Iberian Peninsula. People come from far and wide to express their wishes to a magical king who promises to grant their deepest wishes one day. Only he can decide which wishes will come true and when.
The trailer introduces us to the story’s main characters, including 17-year-old Asha, the mighty Magnificent King, Valentine, Asha’s goat, and Star, “a celestial orb of boundless energy that Asha’s desire brings down from the sky.”
In Wish, “Asha, a witty idealist, makes a wish so powerful that it is granted by a cosmic force, a small ball of limitless energy called a Star. Together, Asha and Star face a formidable enemy, the ruler of Rosas, Re Magnifico, to save his community and prove that when the will of a brave human being connects with the magic of the stars, wonderful things can happen.
We can also hear a little bit of the song “This Wish”, which is performed by Ariana DeBose (West Side History). Provides the voice of Asha in the film. It is one of several new songs written by Julia Michaels AND Benjamin Rice for the movie.
The film was directed by Chris Buck AND Fawn Veerasunthorn, who said: “We have been inspired by so many iconic films in Disney Animation’s 100 years, especially stories where we explore the power of someone with a wish, combined with the belief of making that wish come true. To be able to honor that legacy with this incredible story and these amazing characters has been a joy for our entire team.”
The voice cast for the film also includes Chris Pino as Magnificent, e Alan Tudyk as Asha’s favorite goat, Valentino. Wish” will only be released in theaters on November 22, 2023. Watch the trailer and let us know what you think!
