Disney chose the original Lillo & Stitch director and voice actor of Stitch Chris Sanders as Stitch in the upcoming live-action/CGI remake. It makes perfect sense that they would bring Sanders back to reprise the role.

The news comes from The Hollywood Reporter, which also reports this Zach Galifianakis it is confirmed that he will play the scientist creator of Stitch, Jumba. So far, the rest of the cast includes the newcomer Maya Kealohawho plays Lilo; Billy Magnussen as the one-eyed alien Pleakley, Sydney Elizabeth Agudong (NCIS extension) as Nani, Lilo’s older sister and legal guardian, the original voice of Nani, Tia Carrerewill play a new character named Mrs. Kekoa, while an actress Amy Hillwho played Ms. Hasagawa in the film and animated series, will play a new character named Tūtū.
In the film, “Lilo is a lonely Hawaiian girl who adopts an ugly little ‘dog,’ whom she names Stitch,” reads the synopsis of the original animated film. “Stitch would be the perfect pet if he weren’t actually a genetic experiment that escaped from an alien planet and crash-landed on Earth. Through her love for her, her faith in her, and her unwavering belief in ohana, the Hawaiian concept of family, Lilo helps unlock Stitch’s heart and empowers him to care for someone else.
Camp Dean Fleischer (Marcel the shell with shoes) is directing the remake which will be a major release on Disney+. Chris Kekaniokalani Brilliant wrote the screenplay for the adaptation.
