This is actually very surprising to learn because it was revealed at Star Wars Celebration that the film follows the events of The Rise of Skywalker and will focus on Rey as she builds a new Jedi Order. This certainly makes it sound like she would be the main character.

However, Rocha is saying, “From what I understand, and from some of the rumors that have surfaced here, Daisy isn’t necessarily going to be the lead. She will be like Luke [Skywalker] or the Obi-Wan [Kenobi] of the situation, and she will rebuild the new Jedi Order.

Then Jeff Snieder, the other host and entertainment scooper on the podcast, confirmed that she’s “definitely” not going to be the lead, “but instead a supporting character.”

But weren’t Luke Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi the protagonists? Perhaps the film will feature more of an ensemble cast. So, it won’t necessarily revolve around her. It was also reported that John Boyega he may return to reprise his role as Finn.

Regarding it, Snieder said: “I’ll tell you this. I’ll break it for myself. According to some sources I know, several sources contacted me because of this show. And they told me what they think and what they’re hearing is that John Boyega will be back for this movie.

Sharmeen Obaid Chinoy (Mrs. Marvel) is attached to direct the film from a script written by Stefano Cavaliere (Peaky Blinders).

I guess we’ll eventually find out what’s going on with all of this, but what do you think of these recent reports?
