I’ve always wanted one of these when I was a kid! I’ve always enjoyed the design and, of course, its ability to catch ghosts! The package itself is a complex piece of machinery that looks like it was cobbled together from various pieces of scientific equipment, such as cyclotrons, particle accelerators and nuclear reactors. The package is covered in scientific-looking dials, switches, and other components, giving it a distinctly retro-futuristic aesthetic.
Proton is a portable particle accelerator that fires a stream of protons, which are positively charged subatomic particles. This proton stream is strong enough to trap ghosts and other supernatural entities, allowing the Ghostbusters to capture and transport them in a containment unit.
