Oscar-nominated actor Don Cheadle (Rwanda hotels, Accident, The Wonder Years) signed on to develop the YA novel The escape Of Lamar Giles in a TV series at Sony Pictures Television.

The near-future horror contemplates what would happen if the world fell into chaos and you and your family were stuck working at one of the world’s most famous resorts, with some of the world’s richest and most powerful as guests. Unknown to the employees, the resort has been selling stock in an end-of-the-world oasis, to have the best of the best at the end of days. What they didn’t count on was a group of teenagers, and how far they will go to uncover the truth and save themselves.
Cheadle will produce under his The Radicle Act production banner, alongside his producing partner Karyn Smith-Forge. Giles will also produce.
