STAR WARS: AHSOKA Star Lars Mikkelsen Teases Grand Admiral Thrawn’s Agenda

Star Wars fans were thrilled to learn about it Lars Mikkelsen is set to reprise his role as Grand Admiral Thrawn in the highly anticipated Lucasfilm film Star Wars series, Ahsoka. The actor voiced the character in the animated series Star Wars: Rebels and the fact that he will also be playing the live-action version is pretty cool!

While speaking with Collider, Mikkelsen praised Filoni’s writing on the series, and also teased that Thrawn’s ultimate agenda might not become apparent until the end of the show:

“[Filoni’s] the writing is very good. It’s very strong. And all the characters have their own drive, and you probably won’t know what that is until the last scene and I love that. I like that writing, that it takes its audience so seriously, you can see for yourself we drag it all the way to the reveal. What was it about?”

All of this is just part of Dave FiloniThe plans of the big event that will lead to the film that will carry everything The Mandalorian-set to Star Wars show together. That film will “close” the interconnected stories being told The Mandalorian, Boba Fett’s bookAND Ahsoka. It is also said to follow “the escalating war between the Imperials and the fledgling New Republic”.

Speaking of playing the live-action version of Thrawn, Mikkelsen assured fans that they’ll be getting the same villainous character they’ve come to love over the years. He said:

“It’s hard to get into that without getting into the narrative, you know, because obviously there was some time between the rebels and where do we get into the story here. So, and that time what happened at that moment left its mark on him, but Generally speaking, it’s still the same guy, man You see, you see that’s how you’re in, you know, what are you hoping for?

The actor also talked about what makes Thrawn such an interesting villain and that his mind is what makes him such a formidable enemy to Ahsoka and the other characters. He explained:

“That dude, he doesn’t have the strength. He’s not a Jedi, he’s not a superhero of any kind, but he’s got brains. He’s got all that about it. How does that compare to characters like Ahsoka, Sabine, and all these other people we’re going to see and maybe we’re going to collide in the live-action series?I think, I mean, what I mean, his superpower is his mind, which is really and always like seven steps ahead of everyone. , I think. So that’s what you expect.

Filoni also spoke about Thrawn and explained what sets him apart from the iconic Star Wars villain Darth Vader, comparing him to the Sherlock Holmes character Moriarty:

“The genius of Thrawn is that he’s not Darth Vader. He doesn’t even try to be. He doesn’t have the Force. But he’s smart and calculating. He’s like a Moriarty, he’ll outrun you and make a chess move on you, so those are the things that I really liked them.”

Thrawn is such an interesting and unique villain, and I’m very excited to see how his arc continues to play out over the course of the season. Star Wars projects to which it belongs.
