DEADPOOL 3 – Ryan Reynolds Teases X-Force, Claims Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine Is ‘Something Entirely New’

Ryan Reynolds keep teasing Deadpool 3 and he’s getting fans excited about what that film will entail. There is especially a lot of excitement around Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine, and in a recent interview with ET Canada, Reynolds teased that this version of Wolverine is “something completely new to play.” He said:

“It’s been fun. Both he and I are really excited about it. We’ve wanted to do this for a decade. So to have this opportunity now is, I think actually weirdly, the perfect time.

During the interview, Reynolds is asked what he said to Jackman to get him to join the project and he said:

“I mean, I never stopped. I’ve just been nagging him like a gnat for the last few years. I actually just think… I believe in timing… and I think he was ready.

Reynolds went on to talk about the tone and how this version of Wolverine will be different:

“I think he was excited and what we offered him was just enough departure from the character he knows and the character he’s left behind, that it gives him something completely new to play and something he’s really excited to do.”

It will be interesting to see what is so different about the version of Wolverine that we see in this movie! Jackman has previously spoken of the Wolverine in the film, describing his return as a “dual role,” and it’ll be nice to see what exactly that means.

Reynolds also took to Twitter where he teased the possible return of X-Force, which were the characters introduced in Deadpool 2. He shared a photo of the X-Force team along with the caption: “X will live forever!”

The film is directed by Shawn Leviwho had previously made fun of the film’s violence and vulgarity, saying, “We’re writing, rewriting, developing, preparing Dead Pool every day now. It’s so fun to laugh every day. It’s so delightful to listen to, write and invent these scenes where people speak badly. And the violence is in your face and hardcore, and it really is a Dead Pool movie.”

It’s also been revealed that Wolverine and Deadpool won’t get along in the film. Wolverine hates Deadpool and Jackman has spoken about this before, saying, “How do I rate him? Ten is very close, zero is reality, we are zero, we are opposites, we hate each other. I’m just talking from my point of view, [Logan’s] frustrated with him, wants to be a million miles away from him or wants to punch him in the head. Unfortunately, she can’t be a million miles away from him in this movie, so I’m probably going to be punching him in the head a lot.

Reynolds also previously shared some insight into a Deadpool and Wolverine storyline that was being planned before Disney bought Fox. “It was going to be a road trip between Deadpool and Logan. Rashmon style. Really.” I hope they’re still going to do it!

For those of you who aren’t familiar with what a RashmonStyle story is where the same event is told by multiple characters and the stories differ in ways that are impossible to reconcile. It shows that two or more people can view the same event quite differently.

Deadpool 3 is scheduled for November 8, 2024.
