Documentary by Julie Cohen and Betsy West Julia Child Julia A linear TV show is scheduled for CNN this month.
Co-produced by Ron Howard, Brian Grazer and Michael Rosenberg, the theatrical film explores the famous TV chef’s proof-of-work recipes from nearly 10 years and exchanges notes with two friends who share his love of French food.
The film features interviews with friends and family that explain the boy’s great and lasting impact on American cuisine and culture.
Lead filmmakers Cohen and West are directing, with producers Holly Siegel, Justin Wilkes and Sarah Bernstein.
The movie opens on Memorial Day Monday, May 30 at 8 PM EST.

West and Cohen added: “Julia Child was a challenging subject, and not just because of her charismatic, upbeat personality and tearful voice. As a cookbook author and TV chef, Julia has greatly influenced American thinking about food, television, and women’s talent.
The boy’s story has also been portrayed in Daniel Goldfarb’s HBO Max drama. Julia, Starting in March and already renewed for a second season.
