Movie star Charlie Day he’s doing the publicity rounds this month ahead of his film’s release A fool’s paradise, in which he stars and makes his directorial debut. The choral comedy is the protagonist Kate Beckinsale, Ken Jeong, Jason Sudeikis, Adrian Brodi, John MalkovichAND Ed Falcoand serves as one of the late, great actor’s final performances Ray Leotta.

While it must have been great to work with the star before his passing last year, Day says he has great regret about the film, and in a recent interview on an episode of Sunday TODAY with Willie Geist (via Far Out Magazine), Day explained:
“My biggest regret is that Ray won’t get to see the audience see him. Ray would text me every three months like, ‘Hey man, what’s going on with that movie we made? When does it come out? And I was like, ‘Ray, I’m so sorry. I’m stuck doing It’s always sunny in Philadelphia. I have to deliver this season, and as soon as I’m done, I’ll be back in the editing room, so everything is on hold.’”
Day added:
“It delivers a performance that is, in my mind. I won’t say it is Good guys good, but Ray Liotta is good. It is up to his standards what he can do well.
A fool’s paradise is scheduled for release on May 12, 2023.
