The ring AND Pirates of the Caribbean director Gor Verbinsky is developing a new film with Sam Rockwell in talks to participate, with a script and story from Love & Monsters writer Matthew Robinson. This is a very interesting team of talent to see come together for a project.

I enjoyed the work of all these people, and this would actually be Verbinski’s first directorial feature since the 2016 film A cure for well-being. Verbinski is a solid director and it’s interesting that he hasn’t made a film since 2016! But he has developed projects.
He was attached to director Channing Tatum Gambit at one point, but dropped out of the project in 2019 because “the script never got to a place where everyone agreed.” Then he came on board to direct an animated film for Netflix called Cattywumpus, which ended up being dropped by the streaming service. But maybe he’s not dead.
According to Discussing Film, the next film project with Rockwell could be Cattywumpus, which tells the story of cats in space, or it will be an entirely different animated project that the director is developing.
Gore Verbinski previously said in 2021, “I’m working on two scripts… they’re both animated films. I’m not westerns. One is a musical. It’s been so many years. They’re taking so long that I… I mean, it’s too soon to talk about it.
So it could be one of those. Obviously there are no details to share, but Love & Monsters was a particularly entertaining film, so whatever the story, I’m sure it will have a solid and entertaining script that will take the audience on a wild adventure.
