A new trailer for the upcoming animated film is out Resident Evil: the island of death. Directed by Eiichiro Hasumiwill be a sequel to the less than well received Resident Evil: Revenge. The new film will unite a large cast of classic characters. Chris Redfield, Jill Valentine, Rebecca Chambers, Leon Kennedy and Claire Redfield have their work cut out as they investigate a zombie outbreak in San Francisco. The only link between the infected is a trip to Alcatraz Island, but is this simply a trap to lure the group there? It certainly looks based on the trailer.

Animated movies have been a bit hit and miss, though they certainly have a better track record than live action movies. i just saw Degeneration, but I really enjoyed it for what it is and the others are on my watch list. I’d be lying if I didn’t say I’m not really excited about this movie. It’s no secret to people who know me that Claire is my favorite character, so whenever I see her in something I get emotional and I’m really happy to see her collaborate with Jill. The cast of characters should make for great moments, they’re all solidly good characters on their own and I certainly wouldn’t want to face them all in one fight. The trailer looks like the animation has improved a bit, but not enough to fix some of the issues that have plagued past films.
Resident Evil: the island of death will be released on July 7, 2023.
