President of Lucasfilm Kathleen Kennedy has had a lot to say in the last few days as a lot of news was rolled out at last weekend’s Star Wars Celebration in London. There has been a lot of good news and one of the biggest projects that surprised fans was the announcement of the actress Daisy Ridley will return to the role of Rey in a new film. Kennedy told IGN how the film connects to the Skywalker saga.

“Well, it’s 15 years since Rise of Skywalker, so it’s postwar, after the First Order, and the Jedi are in disarray. There’s a lot of discussion going around, ‘Who are the Jedi? What are they doing?’ What’s the status? of the galaxy?” He’s trying to rebuild the Jedi Order, based on the books, based on what he promised Luke, so that’s where we’re going.”
Kennedy added if Luke will be involved in the story:
“I don’t know if we’re going to spend a lot of time in flashbacks or Force ghosts or anything like that, but definitely the spirit of what he represents to her will be significant.”
