During The High Republic unveiling at Star Wars Celebration, it was revealed that The High Republic-era character Vernestra Rwoh will be making her live-action debut in Lucasfilm’s upcoming series Star Wars: The Acolyte. It was also announced that the character will be played by Rebecca Henderson.

Rwoh is a Mirialan Jedi Knight and a fan favorite for her appearances in the Star Wars books and comics. The actress who plays her is known for her roles in such projects as Russian Doll, Inventing Anna and Westworld. You can see an image of her in the role below.
For those of you unfamiliar with the character, Vernestra Rwoh “joined the Jedi Order at a young age, with her family group celebrating the discovery of her Force sensitivity. She eventually became the Padawan of a human male Jedi Master, Stellan Gios. Vernestra was such a prodigy that she finally attained the rank of Jedi Knight at the age of just fifteen, making her the youngest Jedi Knight in a generation.

The story is set in the High Republic era and the story is described as “a mystery thriller that will take viewers into a galaxy of dark secrets and emerging dark side powers in the last days of the High Republic era. A former Padawan reunites with his Jedi Master to investigate a series of crimes, but the forces they face are more sinister than they ever anticipated.” The series is set 100 years before the franchise’s prequel trilogy. The era of the High Republic is known as the Golden Age of the Jedi, a time when the ancient order was at its height.
Leslye Promontory (Russian doll) created the series and while talking about the project he had previously described it as “Frozen meet Kill Bill.” You can read some additional details about the series along with a description of the footage that has been shared here.
The cast of the series includes Amanda Stenberg (The hate you give), Lee Jung-jae (Squid game), Manny Hyacinth (The Good Place), Carrie-Anne Moss (The matrix), Daphne Keen (His dark matters), Charlie Barnett (Russian doll), Rebecca Henderson (Invent Anna), Dean-Charles Chapman (1917), AND Jodie Turner-Smith (Queen and slim).
