Jensen Ackles made his big debut as Soldier Boy in The boys Season 3, and it looks like we’ll be seeing him again in the upcoming spin-off series Gen V. The news of his involvement came from the actor himself during a Creation New Orleans fan convention in Louisiana last weekend with his Supernatural co-star Jared Padalecki.

During the Q&A session at the event, a fan asked him about the character’s future in the franchise and he replied:
“Soldier Boy appears for a brief moment in this new spin-off of The Boys. In fact, there are a few mothership cameos that go into this spin-off. My small part was heavily [improvised].”
While he won’t be on the series that long, it’s nice to know he’ll show up and it’ll be interesting to see what his character ends up doing with his brief scene. The actor went on to say so The boys showrunner Eric Kripke she was on the spin-off set with him for filming. He said:
“He and I were just, like, spitting out ideas and literally working between takes and coming up with a whole variety of takes.”
They seem to have had fun filming the scene in which he appears. The project is inspired by the G-Men, which is a parody of the X-Men in The boys comic series. “Set in America’s only college exclusively for young adult superheroes (operated by Vought International), Gen V is an irreverent, R-rated series that explores the lives of hormonal and competitive Supes as they test their physical, sexual and moral limits, vying for the best contracts in the best cities. It’s part college show, part Hunger games – wholeheartedly, satire and vulgarity of The boys.”
Gen V stars Jaz Sinclair (Chilling Adventures of Sabrina), Chance Perdomo (Chilling Adventures of Sabrina), Lisa Broadway (Bone), Shelley Conn (Bridgerton), Maddie Phillips (Teenage bounty hunters), Thor of London (Shameless), Derek Luh (Worth shining), Asa Germann (Caviar), Patrick Schwarzenegger (The Staircase), Sean Patrick Thomas (Barber shop), Marco Pigossi (Invisible city), AND Clancy Brown.
The show will premiere on Prime Video in 2023.
