Dancer is set between John Wick: Chapter 3 AND chapter 4 and follows a young female assassin who seeks vengeance against the people who killed her family, as Wick did against those who wronged him. Ana de Armas plays the assassin, who is “trained in the traditions of Ruska Roma”.
Keanu Reeves will appear in the film and, speaking previously, he said: “It’s a good story. Len Wiseman he has a vision, but he’s also embracing, fondly, the world of John Wick. Ian McShane he’s in like Winston.
The actor went on to confirm that Wick only made a cameo in the film and said he only worked “briefly” with de Armas. He said: “So I heard there had been quite a directors move, and it was fun to wear the gown again, albeit briefly. There is a reason for [John] to be in Dancer; it is very organic. And working with Ana was amazing. She really loves action, and she’s really good at it.”
Ana de Armas previously spoke about working with Reeves on an action scene for the film saying, ‘We’ve been in Prague filming for four months. We still have a month to go. My back, everything hurts. I’m moaning, I’m sore, I’m bruised. Bond lasted fifteen minutes, this is a whole movie, another level. But the other day, Keanu and I were rehearsing our very difficult stunt scene, and this man is just rolling me over and flipping and doing these crazy stunts, and i’m like, i can’t complain anymore, i’m done. because he’s doing it!
The film is also the protagonist Angelica Houston like the Director, Lance Reddick such as Charon, e Norman Redus in a mysterious role.
Ballerina is directed by Len Wiseman from a screenplay written by Shay Hatten (Army of the Dead) and is supervised by James Myers for Liongate.
