We’ve had some great Batman stories over the years, fully equipped with various Batmobiles, each of which is fantastic in its own way. But it all started with Adam Westwho played the Caped Crusader from 1966 to 1968 in the two seasons of the series Batman.

In the show, Batman was accompanied by his sidekick Robin, played by the actor Burt Wardand had adventures in Batman’s classic car, the Batmobile.
In an old interview with Moviefone in 2017, shortly before his death, West jokingly explained that the Batmobile in those days was a bit unreliable and wild, and scared its passengers, mostly consisting of his co-star, Burt Ward :
“It was funny from one moment to the next. I was scaring the shit out of people with it, especially Burt Ward, who had white knuckles — but that car, I’ve been racing the Batmobile recently, the new tank-like Batmobile, in a show called “Jay Leno’s Garage. So we raced, and guess who won? The fucking old Batmobile.”
He went on to say:
“It wasn’t easy to drive because it had issues with balance and tracking and brakes and so on. I’ll tell you, it was wacky and colorful, and the kids — they all seem to love that Batmobile. Me too.”
That series absolutely made an impact on fans, and that wild Batmobile will always become a fan-favorite heirloom. I wish we could have seen the look on Ward’s face when West scared him the most while he was driving, though!
