Kelly Clarkson seems to subtly protect her ex-husband, Brandon Blackstock, in a preview clip of the new song that will be released later this month, “Mine”. The single will be released on April 14 and is part of the tracklist of his upcoming album, Chemist. Kelly revealed that he was preparing to debut his new project in a video posted to his Twitter account on March 26. “It’s officially time to say that I’ve been working on this project for almost three years. I wasn’t sure if I was going to release it, but I am,” she began before announcing the album name as Chemist. “He is called Chemist because I was trying to find a word that really described the whole thing because I didn’t want everyone to think I was just dating something like, “I’m angry.” I’m sad, ‘just a thrill or two,” she said.

Chemist it’s the first album Kelly has released since her divorce from Brandon, 45, was finalized last year. The couple walked down the aisle in October 2013, and the Grammy-winning singer filed for divorce due to irreconcilable differences in June 2020.
