Nicolas Cage plays Dracula in the upcoming film from Universal Pictures Renfeld, and seems to give an incredibly funny performance. I love what I’ve seen of his portrayal of the legendary vampire in the trailers, and can’t wait to see him in more bloody action on film.

Well, now we’re finding out that there’s another universal monster that Cage wants to play! During an interview with ScreenRant, the actor said he would also like to play The Wolf Man!
“I kind of did it with Ghost Rider, but I think Wolfman. Wolfman is the scariest and I think just powerfully tragic. But I think it’s been done many times, I don’t think we’re making Wolf Man films more. But for what I’d like to explore, it works for me.”
The Wolf Man is such a big creature and the most recent version of the creature has been played in Marvel’s Werewolf at night, which was great! The style of that project was very much inspired by the original 1941 film The wolf manwho acted Lon Chaney Jr. like a man doomed to turn into a werewolf. There have been many werewolf movies made in between those films, including 2010 Joe Johnston-film directed with Benicio del Toro.
If Universal Pictures made a new film version of The Wolf Man, surely, they cast Cage in the role! Why not!? They could also cast Cage as any universal monster! That would be the Nic Cage Universal Monster Universe! Dracula, The Wolf Man, The Mummy, Frankenstein’s Monster, The Creature From The Black Lagoon, fans would love it!
Renfield will be released in theaters on April 14.
