Barbie is getting the live-action treatment and is ready to rock. suicide squad star margot robbi takes the lead role of Barbie in Greta Gerwig movie next door ryan goslin and many other successful Hollywood actors.
Warner Bros. released the second trailer on April 3. Margot wears fabulous pink dresses and drives Barbie’s iconic pink convertible with Ryan (as Ken) in the back seat. You also know other versions of Barbie played by great actresses.
In the first trailer, released in December 2022, Margot wore the iconic black and white bathing suit that Barbie first wore in 1959. The trailer was initially shown before Avatar: The Path of Water screenings before being widely advertised.
The cast
Greta’s latest project is filled with top notch actors! In addition to Margot as Barbie, many others will join her, including Ryan Gosling as Ken. On June 15, Warner Bros. shared the footage to Ryan’s photo in character via Twitter! Will Ferrell plays the role of CEO of Mattel, the toy company that created the Barbie doll in 1959.

Barbie Release date
The studio officially announced the release date of the highly anticipated film on April 26, via Instagram. In the announcement, Warner Bros. also shared a photo of Margot as the beloved character! They captioned the post with the release date: “#BARBIE July 21, 2023 In theaters only.”
Barbiethe star even spoke about the project to British fashion there in June 2021. “Okay, come with a lot of luggage [playing Barbie]!” said Margot. “And a lot of nostalgic connections. But with that comes a lot of interesting ways to attack it. People often hear “Barbie” and think, “I know what this movie is going to be,” and then they hear that Greta Gerwig is writing and directing, and they’re like, “Oh, well, maybe she doesn’t.” .’” Greta directed the 2017 independent film, ladybuglike the 2019 movie Little woman hero Saoirse Ronan, Florence PugAND Timothee Chalamet.

The official trailer for Barbie was released on December 16th. In addition to Margot, fans have seen Ryan as Ken, Issa Rae, Simu Liu and more. They also got to see Margot wearing Barbie’s iconic black and white bathing suit.
Plus, Margot and Ryan were seen filming the movie! A source close to the production team said hollywood life which the actress also worked on her birthday. “Margot had to work the week of her birthday, but she was so sweet because she was surprised when the cast and crew gave her a giant Barbie cake to celebrate her birthday while she was working,” the source said. Some of the character’s early looks included a hot pink cowgirl outfit and Ryan’s black cowboy look. They’ve even been seen sporting an ’80s roller skating look with hot pink ensembles that take on the iconic doll’s famous color.
Plot
Viewers will see Margot’s character find herself outside of ‘Barbieland’ after not being perfect enough, as she ventures into the real world, according to movie insider information. However, the actress has been telling people to leave all preconceptions at the door.
In December 2020, Margot said the Hollywood reporter, “We like things that feel a little left of center. Kind of like Barbie, where the IP, the name itself, people immediately get an idea of ’Oh, Margot is playing Barbie, I know what that is’, but our goal is to say ‘Whatever you’re thinking , we’re going to give you something completely different, something you didn’t know you wanted.’” The Wolf of Wall Street the star is co-producing the film with her husband tom ackerley.
