Katee Sackhoff on whether Bo-Katan needs the dark sword to guide Mandalore in THE MANDALORIAN

As we saw in last week’s episode of The Mandalorian, Bo-Katan was tasked with uniting the Mandalorian clans to retake Mandalore and the Armorer gave her permission to take off her helmet so she could “walk both worlds”. This decision was triggered by the fact that Bo-Katan saw the Mithosaur after the Armorer revealed to Din Djarin: “Songs of eons past foretold the Mithosaur rising to herald a new age of Mandalore… Unfortunately, there is only in legends”.

Now all Bo-Katan needs to truly lead Mandalore is the Darksaber! It’s something he’s going to have to fight Din Djarin for, though. It seems as of now that she’s not worried about it, but you can bet he’ll come out at some point.

During a recent interview with CB, Katee Sackoff was asked about the Darksaber and if Bo-Katan still thinks he needs the Darksaber to be successful in his mission and to rule Mandalore. She said:

“Oh, you know, what I do know is where we saw her at the beginning of the season, she was defeated and broken. I think it was her, you know, that was her bottom, if you want, being able to rebuild if herself in a new image. She tried everything she thought was the right way to rule and it didn’t work…or lead. ‘Rule’ is the wrong word… It doesn’t suit her. See what I mean? As if that she was a warrior. She wants to rule…that’s what she wants. that what she always wanted was in the interest of the Mandalorian people.

“But I think at this point in her life, she finds herself willing to follow, potentially for the first time in her life… And right now we see her following The Armorer. she felt instantly accepted and I think that’s one of the things that she hasn’t felt yet, and I think for her to finally feel like she belongs is an interesting place for her. , we could go all the way to her backstory. how she’s been treated with her father and her sister and, you know, I think this might be the first time in her life that she’s really been accepted just for being there.”

This is a great way to answer the question without answering the question. Regardless of what ultimately happens, I don’t think Din Djarin will mind losing the Darksaber to Bo-Katan. However, I’d like to see him get better at handling it before she attempts to take it back.
