There are certainly some beautiful in pink energy inside graduation agreement, especially with the dynamic Mandy has with Ben and Graham. But there is no love triangle drama. Mandy and Ben are strictly best friends. For Peyton, she was very protective of Mandy and Ben’s relationship.

“I think one of the things I liked the most about the script when I first read it was the relationship between Mandy and Ben, and the fact that it shows a really strong and big platonic friendship between a boy and a girl,” Peyton said. . “It’s not true, in my opinion, that boys and girls can’t just be friends. I have that relationship with a lot of my friends, so it was great to see that because I think it’s a true reflection of real life. I think if they had gotten together in the end, it would have been forced, and it wouldn’t have done justice to their characters or their relationship at this point in their lives. I was very happy to see that the script didn’t fit that trope.”

The actress noted that “graduation agreement does a great job of showing love in all its many facets. I find it so special and so reflective of life. It’s been amazing to explore these various paths through which love can manifest itself.”

The end of graduation agreement picks up months later when Mandy is at Harvard. She meets Graham again, who has decided to forge his own path and take a year off. Paying homage to classic 80s teen films, Mandy and Graham share an epic reunion kiss.

I remember reading it for the first time and being so excited about having that happily ever after moment that I think everyone wants to see when they watch a movie,” Peyton said. hollywood life. “I think the ending is very revealing of the message of the film as a whole, because you can have both. You can work hard and achieve your dreams and get to where you want to be, and that doesn’t mean you should neglect the other side of life. You can have love and enjoy the experience you are having. I think seeing Mandy at the end of the movie accomplish those two things is really important for young people to see that they can have it all and deserve it all.”

graduation agreement it also marked Peyton’s first time as a producer. The 18-year-old wants to continue exploring opportunities behind the camera in the future. “Directing is my dream,” he said. “This is really what I want to do, but produce for sure. I will always love acting and will always continue to pursue that as well. I will continue to do so as long as they let me.”

Peyton also reprises her role as Lahela in Doogie Kamealoha, MD season 2, which premiered on March 31st. In Season 2, Milo teams up with Peyton as Nico, one of Lahela’s patients.

They have this undeniable romantic chemistry, so getting into that side of things with him was a lot of fun too.”

At the end of season two, Lahela finds herself torn between Nico and Walter. Rather than choose between them, Lahela chooses herself and hits the road in her mobile clinic.

“It’s really important to have strong female characters at the center of our story that aren’t driven solely by men or boys or whatever. It was very important for us to show the young women who watch this show that they have to choose themselves,” the actress underlined. “What really matters at the end of the day is being true to yourself and not letting anyone or anything get in your way. I was really excited that this was the direction we went in at the end of the season, because I think it opens up the show to a lot of possibilities. He’s not saying no to either of them. She’s just saying yes to herself. I think that’s a very powerful and important message for us to see on TV.”

But we have to talk about this epic. The beauty and the Beast Musical moment between Lahela and Nico, gold dress and all. “I spoke with Kourtney Kangour creator and writer, a lot about her vision and what was behind it and how to figure out why we were doing it,” Peyton explained. “I think that gave me a lot of confidence. doogie And what’s especially interesting to me about Lahela as a character is the fact that she’s so grown up, so mature, so grown up, but ultimately, she’s a teenager. We all have those big fantasies about what life could be like, what love could be like, what it would be like and what it would be like. I think that musical moment sums up that teenage dream of what it’s like to fall in love.”

When asked about a possible third season of Doogie Kamealoha, MD, Peyton revealed that she’d like to explore the “dynamics of growing up in the next stage of your life and recognizing adulthood as part of who you are and how that impacts the dynamics with your family.” She added, “We see some of them in Seasons 1 and 2, but I’d love to see more of them, to find out what her relationship is like with her mother and father, respecting them, appreciating their contribution and their love. them for everything they have done for you and also for being able to say this is my life and I have to go out into the world and see what it is like. I’d love to see him in a potential season 3.”

I knew when I graduated high school that this journey wasn’t over yet. It was always very important to my parents that I have academic experience, and it was important to me too. I think basing my life on a traditional experience is very important.
