Thanks to Vanity Fair, we have some new images to share with you from Marvel’s Secret invasion. These photos feature Samuel L.Jacksonit’s Nick Fury, Cobie Smulder as Maria Hill, Olivia Colmann like an obscure MI6 agent, Emilia Clarkemysterious character of , and Ben Mendelsohn like Talos.

We also have some new details coming from quotes from the cast. Secret invasion “is centered around Fury and Talos, who first met during the events of Captain Marvel — and a faction of shapeshifting Skrulls who have been infiltrating Earth for years.
When it comes to the inspiration of the show, producer Jonathan Schwartz states that the series takes inspiration from Cold War spy thrillers by John le Carre and TV shows like The Americans AND Homelandand adds, “There are people… you can only trust up to a certain point.”
Smulders explains this to the magazine Secret invasion is a rare Marvel story where ordinary humans become the heroes. “There’s no one here who is polished and ready for action in a spandex one-piece.”
Nick Fury doesn’t wear his eye patch in the series, but it hasn’t been healed. Discussing why the character no longer wears the eye patch, Jackson said, “The eye patch is part of who the cool Nick Fury was. It’s part of his vulnerability now.”
When it comes to Clark’s character, he is said to be playing a Skrull character named G’iah/Gloria Warner. Vanity Fair teases that while Clarke is new to the MCU, her character is in it Secret invasion it has been seen before. The actress said, “There’s a kind of punk feeling you get from this girl.”
So who exactly is she? She is the daughter of Talos! Jackson revealed, “Remember when Ben was there with his wife and his daughter? She’s the little Skrull girl growing up. She IS his daughter.”
As for the story, Jackson reveals that the sci-fi story of a global takeover is about paranoia turning people against each other. He said: “There is a political aspect that fits where we are now. Who’s okay, who’s not?”
Discussing Colman’s character, Jackson said, “She’s someone you’ve never seen her play before. He’s cold-blooded and loves being that person.
The film also brings back Don Cheadle as War Machine, and previously talked about the series: “[The MCU] They are bananas! And it’s very expansive. And of course, now that everyone can appear in everyone else’s story. I mean, I’m with it Secret invasionso I’m in Sam [Jackson]the show. There’s a part of that, which kicks off what happens Armored wars.”
The series is also starring Kingsley Ben-Adir (Peaky Blinders), Killian Scott (Love Hate), Carmen Ejogo (Fantastic animals), Christopher McDonald (dancers) and Martin Freeman as Everett Ross, a former CIA agent tasked with overseeing the Avengers.
Freeman spoke of the series as being “pretty dark” saying, “It feels quite different from the stuff I’ve seen. It feels like a small departure. Yes, it does – in ways I wouldn’t be so able to describe. Again, I don’t I’ve seen it. I haven’t even read all of it. The bits and pieces I’ve read seem different, I guess: because of the nature of television, you can enjoy things a little bit more.” That storytelling process is just stretched out. So you have more time to solve those intricate problems, which is the beauty of television at the moment. “
