Jason Blum, the famous American film producer, known for his work at Blumhouse Productions, a company known for its low-budget horror and suspense films that were box office hits. From movies like ‘Paranormal Activity’ and ‘The Purge’, to ‘Get Out’ and ‘Halloween’ Starting in 2018, Blum has produced a series of films that have become classics of the genre, but among all he revealed the riskiest film he has ever been involved in.
In a recent interview with indiewire, Jason Blum Reveals His Riskiest Movie So Far Is ‘The Exorcist’ Reboot, scheduled for its premiere on October 13, 2023 and which as of today has no official name to release. Blum explained that the reason behind this is that the movie is very expensive compared to other projects he produced, which as a whole stood out not only for their success, but also for their low budget.
He added that they generally set the bar for success in everything they do blumhouse it’s incredibly low because the budget of the films is low. But in the case of “The Exorcist,” the bar is very high. While they’ve already received payment for the film, it’s a high risk to their financial partners, and Universal in particular. Even so, faith is placed in the reboot.
“The riskiest movie I’ve ever done isn’t out yet. It’s ‘The Exorcist.’” He’s tall. It’s not a big risk for Blumhouse. Obviously, we’ve already been paid, but it’s a high risk for our partners,” Blum said.
So when you ask me what’s the riskiest thing we’ve ever worked on, I take it as we or our financial partners. In the case of ‘The Exorcist’, it would be the biggest, because it’s a big risk for Universal,” Jason Blum said.
The “Exorcist” franchise is one of the most iconic in the horror genre, so it’s understandable that the project is expensive. Moreover, Blum has assured that the new film will be very different to previous deliveries, further increasing the risk. However, he also said he’s very excited about how the film is going and hopes fans are as excited as he is.

We will have to wait for the premiere to see if the film meets expectations and if Blum continues to be one of the most important producers of the horror genre and cinema in general.
‘The Exorcist’ is a 1973 American horror film directed by William Friedkin and written by William Peter Blatty, based on his novel of the same name. The film follows the story of a young woman named Regan (played by Linda Blair) who begins to show signs of demonic possession. Father Karras (played by Jason Miller), a priest tormented by his faith, teams up with Father Merrin (played by Max von Sydow), an expert in exorcisms, to save the girl’s soul.
The Exorcist was a huge critical and commercial success at the time and has been regarded as one of the best horror films of all time. The film is known for its terrifying scenes, such as Regan vomiting and turning her head 360 degrees. Additionally, the film was criticized for its graphic and disturbing content, which made it controversial at the time.
The film won two Academy Awards, one for Best Adapted Screenplay and one for Best Sound, and was nominated in eight categories.
