Kevin Smith announced a special one-night screening event of an extended cut of his 2004 film Vest girl. She calls him Jersey Girl: the Snyder cutwhich is obviously a riff on Zack Snyderis the four hour cut of Justice League.

Thankfully, Smith’s extended cut Knitting girl it doesn’t last four hours. Its cut runs 120 minutes compared to the theatrical release of 102 minutes. It is explained that the extended cut features “sooooo much more JLo.” His character actually dies at the beginning of the story while having a baby.
The box office bomb also stars Ben Affleck, Livi Tyler, Jason BiggAND George Carlin. Smith describes his Knitting girl trimmed as “the 2+ hour version of Kevin Smith’s sixth film that’s closest to his original script, with a completely different first act featuring waaaay more JLo.”
He previously spoke about the extended cut, saying, “There’s a very long cut of Knitting girlthat, recently, Paramount bought out Miramax, they’ve got most of the library and stuff, and they were talking, ‘Hey, we want to release Jersey Girl this year,’ and I was like, ‘Well, I’ve got the cut extended, which I showed Vulgarthon,’ and if they allow me, I want to call it that Jersey Girl: the Snyder cut. Why does that term cover so much ground now, man. It tells the story of, yeah, this director is going to have to go back and get the fuck out of it and make exactly the movie that he wants to make.”
In the film, “Ollie Trinke (Affleck) is young and on top as a music promoter. He is both a workaholic and a silver-tongued expert at manipulating the press. At a company Christmas party, Ollie meets Gertrude Steiney (Lopez), a book editor for a New York publishing house. They are instantly attracted to each other and begin a whirlwind romance that will change the course of his personal and professional life. After Gertrude dies in childbirth, Ollie must take care of his precocious daughter.
Smith will host the screening at 5pm on Sunday 28 May at Smith’s Smodcastle Cinemas theater and will hold a “revealing question and answer” after the screening.
