Beetle Juice, Beetle Juice, Beetle Juice! Tim Burtion’s iconic film hit theaters in 1988 and remains a classic. The film stars Michael Keaton, Geena Davis, Alec Baldwin, Catherine O’Hara, Jeffrey Jones and Winona Ryder. It follows late couple Adam and Barbara Maitland as they try to scare the Deetz family, who now live in their home. They contact a bio-exorcist named Betelgeuse, who torments the residents. The film’s success spawned an animated television series, several video games, and a Broadway musical.
There are plans for a sequel since the release of ‘Beetlejuice’. In February 2022, a sequel was confirmed with Warner Bros. Michael Keaton and Winona Ryder reprising their original roles. In honor of 35 years of “Beetlejuice,” check out stills from the beloved original film in this gallery.
Michael Keaton as Beetlejuice
Before he was “Batman” or “Birdman”, he was “Beetlejuice”. Michael Keaton, now 71, was 36 when he unleashed one of his most iconic performances in the world.
Winona Ryder as Lydia Deetz

Winona Ryder, now 51, played Lydia Deetz in ‘Beetlejuice.’ She was only 16 at the time! Now Winona stars in the hit Netflix series ‘Stranger Things’.

Catherine O’Hara as Delia Deetz

Delia Deetz was the WORST, but Catherine O’Hara, 69, is the best. The iconic ‘Schitt’s Creek’ actress played Winona Ryder’s obnoxious stepmother in ‘Beetlejuice.’
Jeffrey Jones

Last but not least is Jeffrey Jones, 76 years old. He played Charles Deetz, Lydia’s not-so-kind father, in “Beetlejuice.”
