Forever it remains a beloved Cinderella tale even after 25 years. In honor of the film’s anniversary, Drew Barrymore reunited with her co-stars (and on-screen stepsisters) Melanie Lynskey AND megan dods for the March 28 issue of The Drew Barrymore Show. “I literally can’t believe I’m here with my sisters, my stepsisters, Melanie Lynskey and Megan Dodds,” Drew emotionally says on her show as she holds her co-stars’ hands.

Drew, Melanie and Megan are all dressed in characters. Drew is wearing a reproduction of Danielle’s beautiful fancy dress from the movie, wings and all. Drew has a little trouble sitting up with his wings still attached, but he makes it work! In the film, Melanie plays the pretty stepsister Jaqueline, while Megan plays the evil stepsister Marguerite.
Forever was released on July 31, 1998. The film, based on the fairy tale of Cinderella, also starred Angelica Houston, dougray scott, Jeanne Moreau, patrick’s waffleand more. Forever put a feminist spin on the fairy tale, with Danielle saving herself instead of waiting for a prince to save her.
Melanie, who is currently starring in the second season of the hit Showtime series yellow jacketsshe recently recalled a gift Drew gave her when filming began Forever. “She gave me a present when we started making Forever, and it was so sweet. And I was like, ‘I want to buy her a present,'” Melanie said The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. “And I found, in this antiques market, these plates with the butterfly that opens in different phases. I was like, ‘Perfect!’”
Drew first had Melanie on his show in 2022 and discussed filming Forever in the south of France for many years. melania said Forever it was the second film she starred in and remains a “landmark for Glee”. She said filming the film was one of her “happiest experiences” about her.
