Ben Affleck AND Matt Damon made his big break in Hollywood over 25 years ago with Hunting for goodwill, in which the two became the youngest winners of the Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay. It was a great movie, and apparently some people in the industry think the movie needs a sequel.

During a recent interview with Damon, he laughed when he shared that Affleck was recently approached and pitching a sequel. He said:
“Someone just tried to pitch Ben ‘Good Will Hunting 2.’ I do not shit you – it happened. He told me today. He was like, ‘You won’t believe what I heard.’ This was a full-on sequel. I do not understand.
The interviewer then told Affleck what Damon said and Affleck responded by shaking his head and saying, “Matt is always telling stories he shouldn’t be telling.” Then he laughed and said, “It’s not a sequel that we’re going to pursue.”
Hunting for goodwill was directed by Gus Van Sant, and tells the story of a young blue-collar genius named Will, who works as a janitor at MIT and spends his free time solving complex mathematical equations. When Will gets into trouble with the law, he’s given the chance to avoid jail time if he agrees to work with a therapist named Sean Maguire, played by robin williams. Through their therapy sessions, Sean helps Will deal with his past trauma and overcome his emotional barriers, allowing him to develop meaningful relationships and pursue his intellectual potential.
It’s a good movie, but it certainly doesn’t need a sequel.
