He explained that the show will feature some “gigantic payoffs” in both seasons one and two. D’Onofrio also added that both Cox and Jon Bernthal, who plays The Punisher, will play “a big part of the show.” He also said it will be very different from the Netflix show. He explained:

“We just started shooting. I think it’s going to be a couple of weeks away and the show is going to be very, very different than the Netflix show, and it’s so exciting because what we’re doing is quite something. I think it’s something that people don’t get.” they’ll wait. But, always with these old Marvel comic stories being revisited and reimagined by us the actors and the writers, the main thing is to respond to the fans. Give them what they want but try to be original somehow at the same time, and that’s what we’re doing on the show. It’s definitely an original way of looking at it, and it’s really deep, really emotional.

He then teased the second season by saying:

“And, for season two, there are gigantic, gigantic achievements—season one, too, but I can’t say much about that—but the fans are really going to get what they want. It’s really cool to do it.”

It was originally announced that Daredevil: Born Again would consist of 18 episodes. Will all those episodes be presented as one season? Or will they be separated in two? Or will we get an 18-episode second season? We’ll find out eventually.

I just hope the new series will be different in a good way. I’m happy to hear that The Punisher will have a big role in the series, which will keep things interesting and fun!

During a previous interview, Charlie Cox offered some insight into what we can expect from his character saying:

“I don’t think it’s a different character. I just think it’s maybe a different time in his life. I don’t think my performance will change – they’ve hired the same actor. Are we saying this is a new… era or variant? I don’t I’ve read the scripts, so I don’t know. But like, is it part of the multiverse?”

Cox also previously shared that the series will be “a whole new thing” saying:

“I think the sense is that it is a new beginning, it will be different, it will be totally different. They will be new stories and new ideas. It’s a season 1, it’s not a season 4, so it’s a whole new thing. Which I think is the way to go. If you’re going to do it again, do it differently.

Other actors who have been cast in the series include Michael Gandolfini, Margarita LevievaAND Sandrine Holtwho will play Vanessa Fisk, Fisk’s wife. Michael Gaston (Chicago Police, Mayor of Kingstown) is also in the show.

The series was written and executive produced by Matthew Corman AND Chris Ord, and is expected to be released in Spring 2024.
