Keanu Reeves shares his thoughts on John Wick’s pursuit of happiness

John Wick’s life is filled with sadness and regret. He’s been through so much and lost the person he loves the most, his wife. While trying to put his life as a killer behind him, he was brought back when his dog Daisy was killed. Since then, he has made many enemies and has been on the run ever since and fighting for his life.

The big question is, will John Wick ever find some kind of peace or happiness? Keanu Reeves was recently asked in an interview by CB what happiness for Wick looks like, and his response was quite grim because happiness for Wick doesn’t exist. The actor shared:

“I guess it should be a fantasy movie, because his wife would be alive and they could live happily ever after.”

It’s such a heartbreaking response! John Wick: Chapter 4 takes Wick on a pretty crazy journey. He’s trying to fight his way out from under the High Table and they’re not making it easy for him. They are determined to rid the world of John Wick “once and for all”.

So what happens!? Well, you’ll just have to wait and watch the movie! If Wick can fight his way out, what would his life be like? Even if he’s not really happy, what would you do with his life? Where would he go? And how long would it be before he was pulled in again?

I think we will eventually get to John Wick: Chapter 5but for now Reeves is director Chad Stahelski they are taking a break from the franchise. They’re about to give him a break. The director shared:

“In our minds, Keanu and I are done for the moment. We’re going to give John Wick a rest. I’m sure the studio has a plan. If everyone loves it and it gets wacky, then we’ll do a ‘Quiet minute.’ Wicks, for some strange reason, always gets the latest release date in Japan. He’s always like, three months later. If it’s the same this time, we will do a Japanese tour and release the film in September. Keanu and I will make the long trip to Tokyo, we’ll sit in the Scotch Bar at the Imperial Hotel and say, “What do you think?” We’ll have a couple of 20-year-old whiskeys and write some ideas on napkins. If these ideas stick, maybe we’ll make a movie.”

While we wait for the next chapter, we still have John Wick: Chapter 4 to overcome, the spin-off film Dancerand the prequel TV series, The Continental. They should keep us busy and entertained for a while!
