EXCLUSIVE: The most praised John Wick of all things, Lionsgate’s John Wick: Chapter 4, tonight, the franchise sees its best Thursday previews ever for around $8 million per store.
Previews for the R-rated pic began today at 3 p.m. Tracking had the Chad Stahelski-directed sequel on track for a $65-70 million opening weekend that would be a top franchise in the United States.
This estimated sample size of $8 million far exceeds the sample size of $5.9 million John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum which became a previous franchise opening day at $22.6 million and 3 days at $56.8 million in May 2019.
John Wick: Chapter 4The previews are also ahead of those of 2018 Halloween which made $7.7 million on Thursday night, $33 million on Friday and $76.2 million over three days. Chapter 4 also count on Thursday’s previews bad boys for life ($6.3 million), which eventually turned into a Friday-Sunday of $62.5 million in January 2020.

parabellum ranked as the second-highest domestic box office premiere of all time by Keanu Reeves, after 2003 Reload the matrix which grossed $91.7 million from Friday to Sunday over a five-day weekend that grossed $134.2 million.
Global prospects for John Wick: Chapter 4 is US$115 million from 71 foreign jurisdictions, including the UK, Germany, Australia, France, Italy, Spain and Mexico.
