There is a crazy new movie project in development titled Sagging. The film will be an adaptation of a novel that has been described as “Jaws at 35,000 feet.” The book was written by a flight attendant turned writer TJ Newman and is also ready to write the screenplay of the film.

The project is being staged by Universal Pictures and Working Title and the story looks pretty intense! Here is a description of the story the book tells:

You just boarded a flight to New York. There are one hundred and forty-three other passengers on board. What you don’t know is that thirty minutes before the flight, your pilot’s family was kidnapped. For his family to live, everyone on your plane has to die. The only way the family will survive is for the pilot to do his bidding and crash the plane. Enjoy the flight.”

See! It’s a wild story that will make a good movie. Deadline observes, “Newman is the flight attendant who filled her spare time on flights doodling an aviation thriller, only to have her rejected by 41 agents before Shane Salerno and The Story Factory signed her off. His career skyrocketed. Sagging sold to Avid Reader/Simon & Schuster in a 7-figure preemptive offer, with another seven figures for deals in 30 countries.

It’s really great for Newman. His whole life has changed! He has also written another forthcoming book titled Drowning: The Rescue of Flight 1421, which will also be sold in Hollywood. In that story:

“A plane crashes into the Pacific Ocean six minutes after takeoff and is flooded after an explosion during the evacuation. A dozen survivors sink in a sealed part of the plane as it perches precariously on an underwater reef 200 feet below the surface. Among them is an engineer and his 11-year-old daughter. His ex-wife and the girl’s mother are part of the elite rescue team racing to save the passengers before their air runs out.

These sound like stories you’d be interested in watching as a movie!?
