the one with tyler lepley Hollywood’s trajectory is not slowing down. In the midst of his starring role in Valle pthe actor also stars in the acclaimed Prime Video harlem. Besides acting, Tyler is also an artist.
Harlem recently wrapped up its second season with a huge cliffhanger that could involve Ian. and then there is Valle pwhere viewers last saw Diamond with his life in grave danger. Hollywood life spoke EXCLUSIVELY with Tyler about Ian’s future with Camille, Diamond’s relationship with Keyshawn and what’s next. Read our full questions and answers below.

Ian and Camille have been through a lot, and then the finale happened. Do you think they are really finished? Do you think this is the final nail in the coffin for them?
Tyler Lepley: I don’t know if they are really finished. I feel like they can’t get enough of each other. But what I’ll say in terms of where I am now, I feel like Ian understands that you either go after the life you want or you’re content with the life you have. He’s never shied away from being able to articulate exactly what he feels and go after exactly what he wants, even if it’s something he doesn’t see, he just hears, you know? He did it with the restaurant and left Paris to come back and do it his way. You feel the same way in terms of life that seems convenient to you in terms of family life. In that last episode, in that last scene, he was very candid about experiencing some of the things that we might consider basic in terms of having kids and putting them to bed and reading them a bedtime story. These are things you are not willing to give up just because your partner sees you differently. So, as of right now, he’s definitely pursuing the life he thinks is right for him, even if it’s drawing him away from the only true love he’s ever had.
We need to talk about that suspense. One of the girls is pregnant. Obviously there are problems with Camille and her pregnancy, but miracles happen.
Tyler Lepley: Clear. I’ve seen this happen before in my life. I’ve had friends who believe they’ve crossed the line into being able to have kids and end up having kids. This always happens.
How do you think Ian would react if Camille were pregnant, given their latest conversation?
Tyler Lepley: Having an idea of who Ian is, I feel that accountability for this is something that would be key. There is no way to handle responsibility for it. But I also feel like we’ve never seen it be spiritual. I feel like if that happened, he’d understand that everything happened for a reason, even though we’ve seen the last conversation they had. All in all, I feel like it’s something he might have mixed feelings about. You may have to get over some things because it was a great conversation to have and break up with, but something like a kid gets over some of those feelings you have that are at the core of your ego.
I feel like we need to have a season 3 after that cliffhanger. Did you hear anything? Are there discussions going on?
Tyler Lepley: There have been some discussions about this. But ultimately, this is show business. You never know until you show up on the set of Season 3. But we have high hopes and we’ve had great feedback on that. Getting to know the girls and meeting some of the creatives and even the production folks is something we really put a piece of our soul into. We let the chips fall where they go, but even if we don’t, it’s definitely something we all hold dear.
Speaking of a show that has had a third season thus far: Valle p. That show also ended on a cliffhanger. Do you know what happens to Diamond? Are you in the dark too?
Tyler Lepley: Katori is also tight-lipped about what she’s writing in Season 3. I don’t know what will happen to him. I hope it comes out of the trunk. To talk about this idea of my characters, if you will, always ending up in these places where the suspense was all about them, it was amazing to be able to collaborate with these creators who put all of my skill on such high ground. consider. Being able to build something around a character that people care about is a blessing. It was a lot of fun playing with him.

Especially inside Valle p, the reason I’m so drawn to his performance is that you can say a lot without saying too much. Much of this is evoked in her eyes and her mannerisms. I think that’s why so many of us are intrigued by Diamond.
Tyler Lepley: Thank you. I talk about it a lot. I like playing with the juxtaposition of characters because I feel like that’s how we are as human beings. We have light and dark. Diamond is one of those cats where even if not much happens, a lot happens. I’m glad he looks like this, and we might see each other at some of these performances.
As he’s thrown into the trunk after being stabbed, we see some brief flashbacks to his time in the war. Do you think the show will be in Diamond’s past in Season 3?
Tyler Lepley: Yes sure. I think we started in Season 2 to really dive into who was outside of Pynk. When you see him in his hut, you see how he lives. She also sees some of the practices he gets involved in. We’ve been talking about it ever since we first saw Diamond what war was like. He never talks about it, but everyone talks about how he’s at war and he’s going through some serious stuff. So I feel like they, with those flashes when they throw it in the trunk, are the writers way of letting you know what we’re going to do, where we can go.
Just before being caught and kidnapped, Keyshawn called him and asked him to do her a favor with Derrick. Do you think Diamond had every intention of killing Derrick?
Tyler Lepley: Hundred percent. Even if you look at what’s in the trunk, she’s got duct tape and gloves. I even remember playing with some of the props in that scene. Even if you didn’t get it on camera, that was definitely his intention to handle it the way Diamond knows how to handle a problem like this. To Diamond’s credit, I feel like it happens, when it happens, even though I had the idea of going there with every intention of killing Derrick, I feel like Diamond got there. We’ve always alluded to this, Keyshawn continues to be abused. I feel like finally getting to the end of season 2 is something we all deserve. I have to give Katori Hall my props for writing this so slowly and letting us get there.
Keyshawn and Diamond are the definition of a slow burner. Do you think Keyshawn and Diamond get along?
Tyler Lepley: I was talking to Katori once, and it was in the middle, with Keyshawn away from Pynk and Diamond away. Here we have these two characters who were soul-bonded to a point where they’re not close to each other and they’re not even close to be found. We were talking about it. He let me know that he thinks Keyshawn is Diamond’s soulmate. If we have to go back to that place… I don’t know at all. I don’t know whether to be each other’s soul mate when he is full of so many obstacles, I don’t know if he can still go on. One thing I will say is that I agree with Katori. I think Keyshawn is Diamond’s soul mate. There are many obstacles that we should try and try to reach. Sometimes, like in life, sometimes you don’t end up with your soulmate. The obstacle may be too great to overcome, depending on what has been done. But I mean, let’s see.

Besides acting, you are also a singer. They recently released the song “Just Because”. What are your musical plans for the future?
Tyler Lepley: I think musically for me it’s more about embracing and embodying all that I am as an artist than stopping one, shifting gears and doing a 180. It’s not much, but the way I see it, there’s no way I can I can star in a movie franchise, maybe make it into a series, produce the entire soundtrack, then turn it around and go on tour with my stuff. That’s how I see things going for me. While I’m gaining ground in an area I’m passionate about, it’s important to keep watering the plants that I’ve left seeds in the ground for. We are currently pushing “Just because”. I have an album coming out in the next couple of months but it’s important for me to make sure I have the momentum right and give it some lead singles.
