Lord Drakkon will lead the new Power Rangers in the next comic

Lord Drakkon returns this summer and has new friends. BOOM! Studios recently announced Power Rangers Unlimited: The Coinless, a new 40-page one-shot comic. Written by Adam Caesar (Jim Henson’s The Dark Crystal) with art of Moses Hidalgo (Dark blood), colors of Arthur Hesli (Heavy metal magazine), and letters of Ed Dukeshire, The coinless will see Drakkon return and create a new team of Power Rangers. It will be amazing!

As if fan-favorite mid-sized villain Drakkon wasn’t threat enough, Mistress Vile has special plans…ones that will bring the Rangers’ greatest enemy to our world! But this plot isn’t without consequences for Drakkon, and he’ll have to take a page out of Zordon’s book if he’s to keep the world of The Coinless alive.

Speaking about writing the comic, Cesare shared:

I got to work in the world of Power Rangers once before, a short story during Shattered Grid, and I’ve wanted to come back ever since. And to help tell this story? Is Drakkon assembling a new team of rangers? And the Coinless world is super messed up, so does the narrative get tinged with shades of George Romero and Mad Max? And Moises Freakin’ Hidalgo? Come on. This is incredible.

Hidalgo added:

Returning to work with Power Rangers and Boom! Studios is such a special thing to me. As another Chilean (Pedro Pascal) says ‘This is the way’. Adam’s scripts are really great and he is a joy to draw every page. We are all doing our best for all fans of the Power Rangers universe.

I am extremely excited about this one-shot!
