While plans for the second part of ‘The Batman’ are still under development, DC Elseworlds is preparing to introduce new characters to Matt Reeves’ universe. However, old acquaintances could also return for the sequel starring Robert Pattinson, given that somehow the enemies of the first part would return.
According to prominent insider Daniel Ritchman, through his Patreon page, he suggests it the main villains of ‘Batman’ they may return to the sequel. Even though Barry Keoghan’s Joker was being touted as the possible foe for Robert Pattinson’s character to defeat, Bruce Wayne’s earlier antagonists would return for Matt Reeves’ long-awaited second film.
According to the informant, Paul Dano and Colin Farrell will reprise their roles as The Riddler and Penguin ‘Batman 2’. If true, there are 4 confirmed actors returning for the sequel, as well as Robert Pattinson as Bruce Wayne and Andy Serkis as Alfred Pennyworth. It is worth mentioning that the series of “The Penguin” for HBO Max is currently in development, where Farrell would be Oswald Cobblepot once again.
HE he doesn’t know why the Riddler and the Penguin would return ‘Batman 2’, while they may only have a small appearance, after all, their characters aren’t dead, and it’s clear that Bruce would be reunited with them at some point. Although everything indicates that the true villain of the sequel will once again be the Joker, played by Barry Keoghan.

How will the villains from ‘The Batman’ return?
After the death of Carmine Falcone, Gotham City has been flooded and Oswald Cobblepot is out there, trying to take control of crime and corrupt Gotham’s police force. With this premise begins his series for HBO. While The Riddler, he was locked up in Arkham Asylum, where he met the Joker, another of the Dark Knight’s villains.
For his part, Paul Dano said he would “probably be there” if asked to return, so it would be interesting to see him form schemes with the smartest and most relentless foe in Batman history. Both have histories that could justify their presence in the sequel, so it wouldn’t be strange to see them return.
The production of “The Batman – Part 2” will begin in November this year, with the hope that its release will not be delayed, as in the first part, and that it will premiere on October 5, 2025, the same year in which the EUDC will restart with the new film ‘Superman: Legacy’.
