Last Sunday, March 12, the name of Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert has become more well known than ever, as they are directors of “Everything, everywhere, all at once”.’, the film with the most Oscars from the 95th gala. Before that, though, the filmmakers debuted a surreal comedy that you can watch right now on HBO Max.

Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert, better known as “The Daniels”, after their stage names, are two American directors who began their careers as music video directors, and with some attempts at television or short films. But in 2016 they switched to short films with “Swiss Army manhis first film, which now has arrived on HBO Max.

With a style they would later maximize on “Everything Everywhere All at Once”, “Swiss Army Man’ is a comedy starring Paul Dano, Daniel Radcliffe and Mary Elizabeth Winstead, which was not released commercially, was only shown in select theaters with A24 distribution. But he soon became famous for his particular comedy.

The story of “Swiss Army Man” follows Hank, a boy who is about to hang himself on a Pacific island, when he suddenly sees a dead body on the shore of the beach, who won’t stop farting. “Swiss Army Man” is insane from start to finish

With ‘Everywhere All at Once’, the “Daniels” achieved A24’s highest-grossing film of all time, the Oscar for best film and 6 other statuettes. Also, the film has now landed on Amazon Prime Video and is one of the wackiest sci-fi, fantasy, drama, and comedy films of all time. Something only the masterminds behind another equally irreverent comedy like “Swiss Army Man” could have achieved.

With ‘Swiss Army Man’, Daniel Radcliffe was still looking for the role that would take him away from ‘Harry Potter’, and Paul Dano, with an outstanding career in titles such as ‘There Will Be Blood’ or ‘Little Miss Sunshine’, added another impressive record to his filmography. And while its gross didn’t compare to the film that came later from the directors, The Swiss Army Knife grossed $5.1 million, on a budget of just $3 million.

With ‘Swiss Army Man’, Daniel Kwan and Dan Scheinert won the Best Director award at the Sundance Film Festival in 2016, and now they have signed an exclusive deal for the next 5 years with Universal Pictures, where all projects at his name will be in the company and fans can’t wait to see what they have in store for their future.
