Lance Reddick: The projects the actor left behind

The industry is still reeling from the sudden death of Lance Reddick. However, his eloquent presence continues in several upcoming film and television projects that the prolific actor completed before his death at the age of 60.

Reddick has been giving interviews this past week in support of John Wick: Chapter 4, the final film in the hit Keanu Reeves action franchise. The film, which will now be dedicated to the late actor, will premiere next week and is expected to debut at the domestic box office with a franchise-high $70 million. In it, Reddick reprises his role as Charon, the doorman at the Continental Hotel in New York.

Reddick also recently included Charon in the John Wick turnoff The ballerina, under the heading of Ana de Armas. He has completed all his scenes in the film, for which Lionsgate has not yet set a release date.

January’s Deadline exclusively revealed Reddick’s casting in the Kiefer Sutherland-directed film The court martial of Caine’s mutiny by Paramount Global Content Distribution for Showtime. Reddick did all the work and played Captain Blakely, chief judge of the court-martial, in the production, which was completed. Originally written by Herman Wouk in 1951, The court martial of Caine’s mutiny is retold for modern times and follows the United States Navy as it stands trial for mutiny.

Reddick will also soon star as Zeus in the acclaimed new Disney+ series Percy Jackson and the Olympics, which wrapped production on the first season. The project tells the fantastic story of a 12-year-old modern-day demigod, Percy Jackson, who is just coming to terms with his newfound supernatural powers when the sky god Zeus accuses him of stealing his master’s lightning bolt.

Starting May 19, Reddick will appear in 20th Century Studios’ Hulu reboot. White men can’t jump Start fresh. Jack Harlow plays the role of Woody Harrelson and Sinqua Walls plays the role of Wesley Snipes. Reddick plays Benji Allen, Walls’ character’s father and coach, who lives with MS.

Reddick also stars alongside Regina King in John Ridley’s upcoming biopic about Shirley Chisholm Shirley about America’s first black congressman. Reddick plays Chisholm’s campaign manager, Wesley MacDonald “Mac” Holder. We’ve heard the film is targeting a year-end release date.
