Christina Ricci says she was once threatened with a lawsuit for not wanting to do a sex scene in a movie

Actress Christina Ricci he has been in Hollywood for a long time, he started his career in 1990 at the age of 10 when he starred in the movie Sirens next to Cher AND Winona Ryder. The following year he made his mark as Wednesday Addams in The Addams familyand starred in coming-of-age films such as Occasionally AND Casper in subsequent years. She spent the next two decades in independent dramas and returned to the spotlight in the last two years starring in the two hit series Yellow Jackets AND Wednesday.

As an actress for more than thirty years, Ricci has seen the industry change and now she talks about an experience she had some time ago, which she believes won’t happen now.

In a recent interview on The View (via EW), Ricci explained that she was once threatened that she refused to play a sex scene a certain way. She was asked by talk show hosts how film and television sets have changed over the years for young women, to which she said they are heard more clearly when setting their boundaries.

“It’s really great. Us older ladies talk about it all the time. It’s amazing to see that they don’t necessarily have to go through the things that we’ve had to go through. I’m able to say, ‘I don’t want to do this sex scene,’ ‘I won’t be naked.’ They can set boundaries for themselves that we’ve never been allowed to. Someone threatened to sue me once because I didn’t want to do this sex scene a certain way. It’s really changed and it’s great to see.

During a conversation last year with Euphoria Emmy nominee Sydney Sweeney in the context of Of variety In the series “Actors on Actors” Ricci said that she was once threatened with a lawsuit on a film set. She did not disclose at the time that she ended up refusing to do a sex scene.

“I remember once in a movie I said I wasn’t comfortable with something and they threatened to sue me if I didn’t. It would never have happened now. I didn’t however. And they didn’t sue me.”

Speaking with Sweeney about performing nude scenes, Ricci added:

“The thing that made me most uncomfortable was that other people felt uncomfortable with me naked. So what I did, and you probably wouldn’t be allowed to do now, I got naked. I was like, ‘Don’t make me feel weird, like I’m the one to be ashamed of.’… I haven’t done a sex scene for a couple of years. I’m at that age where they don’t ask you so much to make them anymore. I mean, I don’t really like them.

It’s unfortunate that it’s taken so long for women to have a voice in Hollywood, and we still have a long way to go, but it’s great that actresses can feel more comfortable voicing their opinions and concerns when it’s about how their bodies are seen on screen.
