That image above of the various Spider-Characters battling the villain in the upcoming film Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse it’s so damn wild! I love it! The images are incredibly pop and imagining that scene playing out in my head is just insane. The setting of that scene in the image above is India-inspired Mumbattan, which is one of five new universes that will be introduced in the film.

When discussing the film during an interview with Empire, producer Chris Miller he explained: “Our contract with the public is to bring them something they’ve never seen before. The first movie was about taking the characters to Miles’ dimension. It’s about Miles heading towards the others.
When it comes to those new universes. co-director Joaquim Dos Santos he explained that they basically made five films in one: “Every world is a rugged place. Basically, we made five films in one.”
New universes include Gwen’s Earth-65, with her signature watercolor palette; India-inspired Mumbattan; Nueva York, the home of Oscar Isaacof Spider-Man 2099, aka Miguel O’Hara; the punk New London, inhabited by Daniel KaluyaHobart “Hobie” Brown aka Spider-Punk of ; and then there is a secret fifth dimension that is kept well hidden for now.
Writer and producer Phil Lord promises that “go hard” and that “the visuals will be stunning.” Mile Morales voice actor Shameik Moore he continued teasing, “I will say this story trumps the first. If last time the sky was the limit, now the sky is the floor. We step on it and look at Jupiter!”
So that everything sounds damn cool! The film follows Miles Morales as the friendly Brooklyn neighborhood Spider-Man, “immersed in the multiverse where he joins forces with Gwen Stacy and a new team of Spider-folk to take on a villain more powerful than anything they’ve ever encountered.” .
After reuniting with Gwen Stacy, “the friendly Brooklyn neighborhood Spider-Man is catapulted across the Multiverse, where he meets a team of Spider-People charged with protecting his very existence. But when the heroes clash over how to handle a new threat, Miles finds himself pitted against the other Spiders and must redefine what it means to be a hero so he can save the people he loves most.
The film will be 240 characters that will move in this film, and the cast also includes Hailee Steinfeld like Gwen, Brian Tiree Henry as Miles’ father, Jefferson Davis; Luna Lauren Velez as Miles’ mom, Rio Morales; Issa Rae as Jessica Drew, aka Spider-Woman; Jorma Taccone as Vulture; Rachel Dratch; Shea Whigham; Greta Lee; ANDJason Schwartzmann like Blur.
The film is directed and produced by Justin K Thompson, Joaquim Dos SantosAND Kemp Powers. Avi Arad, Amy Pascal, Phil Lord, Chris Miller AND Christine Steinberg they are also producing. Lord and Miller will also be credited as screenwriters on the film, along with David Callaham.
