DC Comics Writer Confirms James Gunn Will Direct ‘Superman: Legacy’

The future of the new DC Universe is in the hands of James Gunn, who controls all the company’s projects, and now it has been confirmed that one of the most important films in history, “Superman: Legacy”, will also be directed by Gunn himself, who was believed to only be in charge of writing the script for the story.

Tom King is responsible for “Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow”, the comic on which the adaptation of the same name in the EUDC will be based. The story of “Superman: Legacy”

In the announcement of the first chapter of the new EUDC, called ‘Gods & Monsters’, James Gunn stated that the story of ‘Superman: Legacy’ will feature a new Man of Steel, much younger than Henry Cavill’s version, and whose plot will be inspired by the events of “All Star Superman”, one of the best comics about the character, written by Grant Morrison.

In the story, Lex Luthor hatches a plan where Superman ends up poisoned by solar radiation and his days are numbered. With Henry Cavill’s exit from the character, fans can’t wait to find out who will be the actor chosen to don the Man of Steel costume. So far, ‘Superman: Legacy’ has a release date of July 11, 2025, the same year ‘The Batman 2’ is released, so it will be one of the biggest years for DC.
