Andy Serkis wants to be part of the new Lord of the Rings movies

JRRTolkienMiddle-earth stories are about to expand in big and exciting ways with Warner Bros. and New Line telling stories that further explore Middle-earth which “remains largely unexplored.” They are trying to “honor the past, look to the future, and adhere to the highest level of quality and manufacturing values.”

Peter Jackson and his writing partners Fran Walsch AND Philippa Boyens have been in talks with the studio regarding the future of these Middle-earth films, which they want to turn into a Star Wars-like film franchise. The studio is making an effort to lock up Jackson, but no deal has been made so far.

If Jackson and his team join, actor Gollum Andy Serkis wants to be part of it! During a recent interview with BroBible’s post-credits podcast, the actor was asked about this new big plan The Lord of the Rings and he said:

“I wait, [producers] Peter Jackson, Fran Walsh, Philippa Boyens are a kind of second family that I have become a part of and have continued to make so many films with. And — let me tell you — they are the best and most amazing people to work with. I think there are so many other potential Middle-earth projects that could come to fruition, and if they are coming to fruition then obviously I would jump at the chance to rekindle that relationship… Middle-earth never left me. “

I have no doubt that if Jackson is involved, Serkis will be there with him. I’d really like to see Jackson involved in this because if he does it, he’ll do it right. I know a lot of people might roll their eyes because of The Hobbit trilogy, but I don’t see him repeating it. I think he will take the time to properly develop these projects as he did with the first one Lord of the Rings trilogy.
