Early reviews of ‘Shazam!: Fury of the Gods’ say it’s a fun sequel with heart

On March 17 the film ‘Shazam! 2: Fury of the gods’ which again introduces a Zechariah Levi as a DC Comics superhero, who received good reviews in first impressions shared across social media by those who already attended the press screening.

Another criticism that took DC fans by surprise is that of Joseph Deckelmeier, who confessed via Twitter that ‘Shazam! 2 “is what I wanted the movie to be,” making it clear that he didn’t let him down and adding that it’s “just a fun superhero movie with a lot of heart.”

Critic Choice member Jamie Broadnax teases that “The sequel comes with more action, compelling villains and a complicated anti-hero” and as if that weren’t enough, he makes a direct statement without spoilers on the plot construction: “Shazam continues to rely on the his stupidity and immaturity in this sequel that tells us this franchise will stick around to keep these movies fun and light and slapstick.”
