For those Marvel fans who were hoping to see Jon Bernthal returns as Frank Castle aka The Punisher, you’ll be happy to know he’s set to reprise the role at Marvel Studios Daredevil: Born Again! I wasn’t sure if we’d see Bernthal as The Punisher again, so this is pretty awesome news to learn!

Bernthal joins Charlie Cox AND Vincent D’Onofrio of the series, which begins filming this month in New York City. It will be really interesting to see what this series ends up being and whether these characters will be the same for the Netflix shows or different. I think it will be a little bit of both, but I hope it conveys the dark grit of those Netflix projects.
The version of Daredevil in which we have seen Spider-Man: There’s no way back home it was very much in line with the Netflix version of the character. But, the Daredevil within She-Hulk felt different. During a previous interview, Charlie Cox offered some insights into what we can expect from his character saying:
“I don’t think it’s a different character. I just think it’s maybe a different time in his life. I don’t think my performance will change – they’ve hired the same actor. Are we saying this is a new… era or variant? I don’t I’ve read the scripts, so I don’t know. But like, is it part of the multiverse?”
So if that’s the case, I’m guessing it will be the same with every character from the Netflix shows that carry over to the MCU. At the same time, Cox has previously shared that the series will be “a whole new thing” saying:
“I think the sense is that it is a new beginning, it will be different, it will be totally different. They will be new stories and new ideas. It’s a season 1, it’s not a season 4, so it’s a whole new thing. Which I think is the way to go. If you’re going to do it again, do it differently.
One thing we know for sure is that Daredevil: Born Again will be Marvel’s largest project on Disney+ as it will consist of 18 episodes. Unfortunately, it doesn’t look like that Deborah Ann Woll AND Elden Hensonwho played classic supporting characters Karen Page and Foggy Nelson will be attached to the show.
